Live the Legend of King Arthur at Mount Stewart

Mount Stewart, Newtownards, Co. Down - Fascinating eighteenth-century house with nineteenth-century additions.

The holidays have just begun, and there’s no better way to enjoy a summer’s evening than at Mount Stewart on Saturday the 5 July at 7.30pm! Order a palate pumping posh picnic from our very own Bay Restaurant, bring a rug, sit back and be entertained by the Chapterhouse Theatre Company, as they present King Arthur and The Knights of the Round Table.

In the exotic luxuriance of the National Trust’s celebrated gardens, this troupe of travelling players will transport you back to a time of chivalry, sorcery and swords!

This is the tale of medieval magical power, romance and heroism, played out with songs, music and high energy. A must-see show that all the family can enjoy!

Why not come dressed as the legendary King Arthur himself, or as a heroic knight, such as Lancelot? Let’s not forget we would need a few mystical Merlins, as well as a gorgeous Guinevere or two!

You need not partake in a danger quest to become part of Mount Stewart ’s round table! To book your ticket, just give the damsels and knights at reception a call on 028 4278 8387.

Tickets are £12 per adult, child £8 and family £35.

To book a ready-to- go picnic, please call The Bay Restaurant on 028 4278 7806.

An there is loads more to enjoy at Mount Stewart over the summer months - Paint the Garden work shops start from 5 July, running every Saturday until the 26July! Summer Safari takes place on Saturday 19 July, followed by an evening of classical music on the 26 July, and of course, July’s Jazz is back on the 27th!

If you see something that interests you, just call reception and the team will be more than happy to answer any queries!
