40 acres of gardens, overlooking Dingle Bay, which were originally planted in the mid 19th century can be visited at a magnificent stage of their restoration. The Primeval Forest is one of the most extensive plantings of tree ferns in the northern hemisphere. There are over 3kms of walks and trails through the gardens.

The 40 acres of gardens are laid out along a fast flowing stream and through the imposing entrance gates a waterfall is visible. Originally planted in the mid-nineteenth century, this is an opportunity to visit them at a magnificent stage of their restoration. The Primeval Forest is one of the most extensive plantings of tree ferns in the northern hemisphere and contains rarer varieties such as Cyathea dealbata and Dicksonia berteriana. The Jubaea chilensis that dominates the seaward view from the house is reputedly the biggest palm tree in Ireland and it is a surprise to find it was planted in 2007.

There is a walled garden, a cliff walk affording magnificent views over Dingle Bay and a Bamboo Glade.

On N70 between Glenbeigh and Caherciveen. 13 kms after Glenbeigh take right hand turn signposted Kells, after 2kms take right hand turn at junction to Kells Bay and the garden is 1 km down this road on the right.
